We’ve hit a significant milestone in Indiana’s legislative session, the halfway point, and we’ve made tremendous progress so far. Earlier this month, Senate Bill 209 passed the Indiana State Senate with strong bipartisan support, bringing us one step closer to modernizing charitable gaming in our state. The bill now moves to the Indiana State House of Representatives, where we must continue our advocacy to ensure it crosses the finish line.

Looking ahead, we’ll take some time to refocus and consider Senate Bill 209’s path during the second half. The House must now review the bill, and while representatives approved a similar measure, House Bill 1433, early on, it ultimately was unsuccessful in reaching the House floor. Every step forward requires continued engagement from supporters like you to ensure this legislation receives the attention and backing it deserves.

If you haven’t already, please take a moment to sign our petition pushing for this legislation. Every signature counts and sends a strong message that Hoosiers stand behind our veteran and nonprofit community. Your participation is critical to our success.

This legislation is a game-changer for veterans service organizations and local charities, helping them raise more funds to support critical programs. From providing housing for homeless veterans to funding community initiatives, charitable gaming makes a real impact where it’s needed most. By allowing electronic pull tabs, we can increase fundraising potential without raising taxes or placing financial burdens on taxpayers.

The road ahead will require all of us to stay engaged and keep advocating. Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can ensure a brighter future for the organizations that make a difference in our communities!
