We are excited to share that Senate Bill 209 has officially passed the Indiana Senate with wide bipartisan support, marking a significant step forward in our efforts to modernize charitable gaming for Hoosier veterans service organizations and other nonprofits.
State Senator Kyle Walker, the bill’s author, emphasized the importance of this legislation on the Senate floor, stating, "Allowing these groups … to grow and flourish will pay dividends to our state that simply cannot be measured by dollars alone. This bill is a responsible modernization of an already-established method of gaming that is very narrow in its application.”
We extend our sincere thanks to Senator Walker for his leadership and commitment to ensuring our veterans and charitable organizations have the tools they need to continue serving their communities.
While this is a major victory, our work is not done. House Bill 1433 is still moving through the legislative process and is currently awaiting a hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee. We will keep you updated on opportunities to engage and advocate for electronic pull tabs as we head into the halfway point of the legislative session.
Thank you for your continued support and advocacy. We could not do this without you!
